This family owned business has its roots in the early 1900’s, originally founded as Roberts’ Hardware & Mercantile, by Gersh and Lou Davis Roberts. At the death of Gersh Roberts, his son Gilbert and wife Margie Brown Roberts, took ownership

In 1973 Ron Davis and Vince Davis, sons of Gladden and Gladys Brown Davis, purchased Landers & Barker Lumber CO, located in Cabool Missouri, and Roberts’ Hardware, merging the two and creating the home center operation known as Cabool Home Center Inc.

In 1978, the two separate stores were merged into a 25000 square foot facility, just off Highway 60/181 in Cabool.

In 1986 a second location was added in Marshfield Missouri, known as Crosscut Home Center on I44. With expanding, this facility operates as a 13000 square foot contractor headquarters.

In 1988 a wooden truss manufacturing facility was opened at the Cabool headquarters, operating under the name of Ozark Truss Company, providing quality wooden trusses to the companies customers.

In 1989 a third location was added in Houston Missouri. Operating as Houston Do It Center, it is a 23000 square foot facility on Highway 60 in Houston.

1993 was another eventful year with Ron Davis acquiring all of the companies and son Chris Davis returning to the company after graduating from MSU with a degree in finance. With his wife Kathi Davis, Chris assumed management of the Houston location, headed up the marketing department, and engineers and designs most of the trusses.
